Giving to Ghana

We are collecting new (and gently used) reusable water bottles to send to children in Ghana, West Africa. The bottles will be sent to students at the primary schools in Techiman, Brong Ahafo Region, Ghana. Many children there do not have clean drinking water at their homes and have to share a drinking cup when they are at school. Several hundred students drink from the same cup each day! This project will help eleminate sharing of germs and allow children to have fresh drinking water on their long walk to and from school. It is our goal to collect enough bottles so that each child may have their own. WE NEED 3,000 REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES!!! We would also like to collect stickers to send so that the children can decorate their own bottles. On Monday, April 27, we issued a challenge for each student to bring at least one bottle. They need to be plastic, reusable sport-like water bottles and can be any size and color. Bottles will be collected until FRIDAY, MAY 15. Please let me know if you would like to help with this Girl Scout Service Project that Mak's troop is coordinating!

The Storm...and Things I'm thankful for :-)
After the F0 tornado in our area...we were without power for 48 hours! There were 8 huge poles that were knocked down & have since been replaced with a stronger metal version! YEAH OG&E!
I am THANKFUL for my dad...who after a phone call at 6 am, brought me a generator! I am thankful for huge surge protectors & extention cords that were able to keep our food cold, our house warm...and especially the TV on!
I am thankful that the only damage at our house was Makinze's trampoline--which now doesn't have the net around it! I am VERY thankful for friends that we were able to help during the time of now electricity by stretching extention cords to neighbors homes to keep their food cold and TVs on! Lastly, those friends who came & enjoyed our company during those two days!

Fin & Feather

Makinze and I spent a few days at Lake Tenkiller this week with my dad & my sister's family. Here are a few pictures taken before we left.
This was the first time that I had been to Fin & Feather---what a really wonderful place to hang out with your family. This place was full of entertainment for your family! Arcade, basketball court, skates...and best of all THE LAKE! Makinze & I tubed for the first time and she loved swimming in the lake.
