Here Comes the BRIDE

Melissa R is so excited about getting married...typical HUGE smile on her face! Here she is with dad, David waiting to go down the aisle!
Congrats Kyle & Melissa D (which Makinze thinks that is weird that Melissa had to change her last name...too funny!)

Makinze, Asher, & Jolie were intently watching the ceremony! (The entire 10 minutes!)

Melissa & Kevin eating their cupcakes! She actually wanted juice boxes for everyone--but that got vetoed!

Sticking with the cupcake theme...a deer cupcake groom's cake!

Uncle James' Graduation

Rob's little brother graduated from High School on Friday. It is hard to believe that he's going to college. He was about 7 when we started dating! Makinze loves him so much.
James pointing at Makinze holding up a sign that said, "I love (actually was a heart) Uncle James PHS Senior '07!

How things have changed--we had to look for our friends! James just sends text messages!

Cousin James, Uncle James, and Mak after graduation.

After baccalaureate at PHS!

Crazy Cousins!

Morgan spent the night on Thursday. The girls painted on the back porch...there were footprints, handprints, and PAINT everywhere! We still are pulling it out of Makinze's hair. But they had fun!

Mak & Jolie

GREAT Grandparents

My grandparents make it to every great grandchild's birthday party! They are so special to us. Mak has named them GG and Great Grandma. We love them SO much!

Mason's 3rd Birthday

It is hard to believe that my nephew, Mason turned 3 this year! We celebrated with a pirate theme. Aunt Christy led them on a treasure hunt for gold--and for those who didn't find any--they had to walk the plank! Christy even made the cool pirate cake--GREAT JOB!

Uncle Jeff took the kids on a boat ride on land!

Last Day of School!

So, just wanted to say that we are officially on Summer Vacation! (Well, we have to go over tomorrow and Friday--but not for too long!) YEAH for summers! I think that is how they keep teachers to come back year after year.

Just like having more than one child. They say that you forget the pain when you see the child---and after time between the two you definitely forget the pain! You forget how much time/energy you put in during the school year during the summer and get completely recharged to be a super teacher for the next year!

So, happy summer~we have started busy~ Rob's brother is graduating from HS on Friday! Congrats James! And a friend of ours, Melissa R is getting married Saturday!

Big GIRL!

OK, so on Mother's Day Rob asked Mak if she wanted to get her ears pierced. OF course she said yes & we go to Claires....where we don't get them pierced. She talked about it ALL WEEK! Asking everyone about their experience...then-

Fast forward to Friday and we are going into Radio Shack and she asks if she can have them done now! WOW! I was so shocked that she actually did it! I always thought that we'd wait until a special birthday--but they are so super cute in her ears. My friend, Heather told her that it would pinch, but then she'd get to wear cute earrings...think that's all it took. She didn't even cry---she is getting SO big!

Hair Cut

Daddy let Mak buzz his hair tonight!

Mother's Day

We had a good Mother's Day this year. Rob attempted to buy me a wonderful present and unfortunately it wasn't exactly what we thought & ended up taking it back Sunday afternoon! Oh well! The kitchen towel that Makinze made for me was the cutest ever and more than any mom could ever ask for!
Here we are at church before morning services. Every Mother's Day we always honor all of the mothers with a rose. They have mothers stand up by how long they've been a mom. I remember how it felt every mother's day before I was a mom. I would literally weep when I returned home, it was almost torture and was extremely hard to attend church knowing that I would have to endure the mothers standing. It reminded me of what I was not. It also reminded me of God's plan and his time is not necessarily my time. I was very proud this year that they had all of the women stand and give them a flower as well, even the ones that aren't moms. I think that is wonderful and hopefully it will help those who we don't know are wanting to be a mom on Mother's Day!

Baby Hadley

Welcome Hadley! She was born on the 7th and is doing great. Dylan is a wonderful big brother and Makinze loves her so much too!

Baby Pigeon

Grandpa has a momma pigeon that will let you hold her babies. Of course, we have to stop by every few days to check on it! Here it is very soon after it had hatched.

Fishing at Grandpa's!

I love to FISH! Daddy took us fishing and we caught tons of little fish.

Track & Field Day

We had track & field day at school earlier this month! Makinze tied for 3rd in the bean bag toss! Here she is running the cones.

Sunday Performance

Here she is performing! Playing her banjo!

Family time visiting!

With the Bride!

Dustin & Sheree's reception

We came straight from recital to the Alumni Center for their reception. Even though we were late, we still had time to enjoy our family and congratulate the happy couple!

Dancing with Grandpa!

Saturday Night

One of the best things about recital is all of our family that come to watch! Here she is with her Uncle James!

RECITAL!

We love recital time SO much. It is so great to see all of the girls and how excited they are to perform. Makinze did fabulous this year. They did a dance to Suzanna! Here are several of the girls in the dressing room around Gracie's wagon. Gracie was ran over by her brother on the go-cart the week before and has a broken leg. They wheeled her out on stage in the wagon--too precious!

PreK Opening

The Pre-K class lead opening in April! They all did a super job. Makinze's table sang twinkle, twinkle, little star.

Maguire's 5th birthday at the gym. Maguire and Makena give Makinze a push in the barrel!

Joe's Shirts!

Before school one morning!

Baby Showers...

With Heather expecting soon we had two showers for her! Makinze is SO excited that she is to be the "big sister" for Hadley.

Wilson's Egg Hunt

Easter doesn't seem the same unless we all head out to Jerry & Darlene's for sandwiches and the big Egg Hunt! Makinze & Jolie found lots of eggs.

Easter

Easter morning before church. We had to add closed toe shoes and a sweater at the last minute due to the cold weather! This dress is a Cinderella dress--look closely at the bottom in the flowers and you will see her. Makinze had her glass slipper heals to wear :-(!

Dylan's 5th Bday!

Here is Dylan posing with his cake that I made him! This was the 2nd Cars cake that I have made and it turned out SO cute!
It was a bowling birthday!

April

April begins with the celebration of Makinze's 5th birthday on the 1st. Here is the cake that I made for her this year. The party had a unicorn theme. Grandpa M got her a Trampoline and the kids loved it! Cousin Morgan read every card to her and she was surrounded by wonderful friends and family and too many presents!

Green Eggs & Ham

Our favorite day in March! Dr. Seuss' Birthday Celebration and Read Across America! This is also one of Mak's favorite books.

Valentine's Day

Mrs. Kathy & Makinze at Pre-K Valentine Party! Makinze has done FABULOUS in Pre-K this year and we were so blessed with such a loving and kind teacher.

February

The highlight of February was the birth of Logan! Makinze cannot get enough kisses and snuggling.

January

The ice storm kept us from school for an entire week! Makinze found a new type of popsicle that God makes!

Summer!

With Summer vacation only 11 short days away I thought I'd catch you up on some of our happenings this Spring!
