We are collecting new (and gently used) reusable water bottles to send to children in Ghana, West Africa. The bottles will be sent to students at the primary schools in Techiman, Brong Ahafo Region, Ghana. Many children there do not have clean drinking water at their homes and have to share a drinking cup when they are at school. Several hundred students drink from the same cup each day! This project will help eleminate sharing of germs and allow children to have fresh drinking water on their long walk to and from school. It is our goal to collect enough bottles so that each child may have their own. WE NEED 3,000 REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES!!! We would also like to collect stickers to send so that the children can decorate their own bottles. On Monday, April 27, we issued a challenge for each student to bring at least one bottle. They need to be plastic, reusable sport-like water bottles and can be any size and color. Bottles will be collected until FRIDAY, MAY 15.
